I find it amusing that to some skin designers in SL asking the RGB of a skin is as personal as asking what their sign is in RL.
I’ve been a fan of Redgrave skins since my noob dayz when someone suggested them but I’m recently finding there are great designers out there. I’m sorry… I’m one of those people that stick with something for the long haul if it’s good. When I was introduced to Stiletto Moody’s KILLER heels that’s when I became more aware of RGB shades and matching to perfection. At that time Redgrave didn’t disclose that info, but seeing as the creator was in fact a fan of Moody’s herself, it wasn’t long before the requests for skin coloring became answered to the group.
Fast forward to the world of perfection matching. I’ve recently purchased prim feet and found myself again struggling for that perfect shade. So here’s the skinny.
In the advanced menu (ctrl – alt- d if you don’t already have it) go to UI then select Show Color Under Cursor. This will display the RGB colors of whatever you mouse over on the bottom of your screen, making color matching much easier. For example… I learned while trying to match my prim feet that by placing the cursor right at my ankle I’ll have a more closer coloring to my foot than if I used the RGB color of my arm. Yes my friends… the skins are made of up several RGB colors… this will give you a much better way of matching it perfectly.
Hope this helps all of the prim peeps such as myself who just HAVE to be matchin.
